  • Band Members: Well, my name is Brittany (Ayres). My buddies Collin Zuckerman and Adam Blevins play lead and drums respectively. We’ll have a couple of folks playing bass and rhythm with us at this show. How would you explain your band in three adjectives? (feel free to get weird and creative)

Hmmm, inebriated? Haha. That's a tough one, really. Someone else described us as wild, catchy and real. I guess you'll have to see for yourself though? What are you currently listening to? I'm really into my old favorites, CCR, The Who, anything John Kay wrote, The Flamin Groovies...been playing a lot of Dexateens and can't wait for their album to drop. Since coming back to Birmingham I've been hanging out with a lot of people who are exposing me to more underground rock n roll that I've never heard and man, I really can't get enough. There's just so much good music out there, I could spend forever answering this question. Icons/Influence? My first exposure to music was through the TV show California Raisins so classic soul singers really paved the way for me. James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Etta, Aretha, Otis, Ray Charles... Elvis was huge for me. Still is. My pawpaw taught me to love Elvis and Johnny Cash and I never came off it I guess. What is the most bizarre thing that has happened while you were on stage? Man I'm getting flashbacks to Memphis. When does something weird not happen in Memphis? I was playing with another band some years ago and a woman came barreling through the crowd on a moped. She was quite wasted of course, looked like she was trying to run everyone over and she nearly succeeded with a few patrons. About an hour into her visit, she was walking around the bar pulling women's shirts up/down and bobbing for boobies. Let's just say it wasn't the kind of stuff you’d want your kids to see. Strangest part was that it seemed to be totally normal behavior for the place we we're in and for whom the woman was. I forget her name but I remember someone saying “Oh yeah, that's just so and so”. Memphis truly is a bizarre place. Any shows coming up soon? We're playing a music festival with Banditos on Oct 15th here in Alabama. We may also be playing in Huntsville before that but that's still in talks. What is the band working on right now? So much. We just finished writing our debut album with a little spare change in the bag. We're heading to Nashville this fall to record a 5 song EP with Andrija Tokic at The Bomb Shelter. Can't wait for that, his studio has a full analog setup with tons of vintage equipment. I'm excited to experience recording with him and see what our songs end up sounding like with all that cool gear on board. What do you do in your SPARE time? Well like I said, we're all really different. But most of everything we do even in our spare time revolves around music. I catch as many good shows as I can. It's really cool to be able to say that Birmingham keeps me busy with that because it wasn't always the case. This year I'm trying to see as many of the artists I grew up on as I can, while I can. 2016 hasn't been very kind to the music world, ya know. What is your all-time favorite album? That's an impossible question. Every week or so I find one or two I haven't heard before that really light me up. Get back to me in a few years and I'll try to answer this question a bit better. Last words? Thanks for letting us play the Punk Rock Flea Market. This is our first one as a band and as visitors and we're really excited to see what's up.
